Looking to build your child’s climbing skills and confidence in a fun, supportive environment? SubClubs are our weekly kids’ climbing lessons, designed for children aged seven and over and held during school term time.
Each 60-minute session helps young climbers improve their technique, develop problem-solving skills and grow in confidence with the support of a coach.
Our weekday sessions are grouped by age to support steady progression and build lasting friendships. SubClubs take a break over summer and will return in September, with bookings opening in late August.
Book 6 or more sessions and save £1.50 per session, or book 12 or more sessions and save £3 per session! Discounts apply only when booking sessions for the same age group together in a single booking.

The Substation Climbing Academy is an advanced coaching programme aimed at developing young climbers, aged 10–16, to a competition level. We host one selection day per year to choose 14 Academy members based on their performance and potentail.
Our next Academy Selection Day is Saturday 7th November 2026.
INSTRUCTORS WERE amazing
Took a big youth group and the instructors were amazing with the kids and everyone came away having had a great time.
WE ALL HAD GREAT FUN
We took 10 members of our youth group to Substation and had a fantastic time. The staff were brilliant! Most of them hadn't been bouldering before and some were a bit nervous but the leaders instantly made everyone feel at ease and we all had great fun.
ROUTES FOR ALL LEVELS
Relaxed atmosphere, good climbing routes for all levels, ages, fitness levels. Good price. There is a upper level for kids. Food was nice. Staff friendly and helpful. Parking wasn't a problem.
